Overcome Procrastination Using Completion Energy
BRAMPTON, Ontario – March 2, 2008 – Procrastination is an unspoken epidemic for those caught up in a flurry of work and school related activities. Are there chores on your mid-winter list of thing to do that haven’t been done? It’s not quite time for spring cleaning and gardening but chances are there are lots of other items on every family’s To Do list needing immediate attention.
Professional Organizer Karen Sencich, owner of Havoc to Harmony, has created an organizing program to urge individuals to stop procrastinating and organize and prioritize their lives. Entitled Tackle it Now, her organizing program runs semi annually in conjunction with Daylight Savings Time. Public service announcements in the media traditionally remind the public that clocks will once again “spring forward” on Sunday, March 9, 2008. Everyone will be urged to check their carbon monoxide and smoke detectors and to check the batteries in their flashlights.
Sencich questions why we stop with only a couple of action items. Why not harness the energy of the entire family for an hour or two in order to systematically tackle the most important priorities, ones that have been put off indefinitely? Our society yearns for what Sencich calls “completion energy”, that is, the personal satisfaction experienced when a task is finally finished. With the spring school break about to begin, this year’s Tackle it Now tips include 7 days of fun activities that families can implement to simplify their lives.
In 2003, Sencich co-authored an e-book called Havoc to Harmony at Home – One Week at a Time. In 2007, she began publishing Tackle it Now tips semi-annually to focus on family friendly ways for parents to transfer essential organizing life skills to their children through age appropriate chore assignments. Sencich also created a Tackle it Now laminated master list of every job that needs doing in the average household. The guide is the basis to create a family action plan and includes ways to motivate the family team.
Sencich encourages entrepreneurs and business owners to use her Tackle it Now message to connect with clients and employees in order to encourage them to take action to address the important details in their lives. The program covers all aspects of home and work life including financial information, health and safety, family management and filing personal papers.
Karen Sencich, owner of Havoc to Harmony, is an award winning Professional Organizer, speaker and writer. Specializing in family management since 1999, her motivational tips enable clients to implement easy-to-duplicate strategies to overcome organizing obstacles at home, work and school.
