The latest fashion shows, receptions and parties were well attended by diplomats, press, fashion buyers, socialites and VIPs. The spectacular event delivered more than expected.
In addition to the fabulous fashion shows, attendees at the three-day event, held in the elegant ballroom of the Westin Times Square, enjoyed riveting performances by world-renowned violinist Alexander Markov, concert pianist Heike Doerr, accomplished cellist Gjilberta Gelaj, concert pianist Svetlana Gorokhovich, singer Lara Janine and the acrobatic Aerial Duo/Mantryx.
Jean Fares of Lebanon presented his latest collection of inspired evening couture creations entitled "Living...Energy" inspired by the ideal wearer of his designs: a dynamic, charming, thrilling and energetic woman. As one of the guests said, “…each gown was fabulous and then the next one was even better."
Innovative award-winning fashion designer Catalin Botezatu of Romania presented his latest femme fatale creations. The editor of Black Tie magazine observed: “It does not get any better than this… these shows have reached a new height…” Another editor commented “Couture Fashion Week is definitely a very distinguished fashion week and different from anything else we have in New York.” Mr. Botezatu’s collection exuded an evocative appeal and a vaguely gothic flavor with a seductive charm.
In a much anticipated follow up to her stunning 2007 USA debut at Couture Fashion Week, the fashion show of accomplished Kuwaiti fashion designer Haya Al Houti was a dazzling spectacle of transcendent creations. Among the numerous diplomats attending was the Ambassador of the Permanent Mission of Kuwait to the United Nations and his wife. The wall to wall audience of VIPs, press and fashionistas oohed and ahhed over the collection of inspired shapes and almost architecturally constructed creations marked by meticulous attention to detail and an artistic creativity.
Acclaimed Romanian couture fashion designer Romanitza returned to Couture Fashion Week with a dramatic yet decidedly feminine collection called “Seventeen”.
Miami-based Lourdes Libman showed a delightful crop of colorful, feminine meticulously crafted creations. Katya Leonovich returned to Couture Fashion Week with a soft feminine collection of muted pastels with architectural detailing.
Three talented designers presented their creations at Couture Fashion week for the first time: The glamorous collection by New York-based Michael Mione, a favorite designer of the Bollywood set, Sushma Patel and Bulgarian native Milena Dobreva her whimsical and vibrant designs.
The event concluded with the presentation of the latest collection by producer and designer Andres Aquino. Entitled “Casablanca”, the charming designs are inspired by the architecture of the legendary Moroccan city.
Hair styling was directed by celebrity hair stylist Federico Calce. Makeup was provided by Lovia Cosmetics and Beauty.
The next fashion event is scheduled for March 22, 2008 in Palm. Tickets are available to online at: couturefashionweek.com
