Darlington law firm Latimer Hinks is inviting friends and colleagues to enjoy a spectacular night out and help raise funds for three local charities.

The fifth Latimer Hinks Summer Charity Ball, which takes place on Friday May 16th at the magnificent Wynyard Hall, is being staged to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance, Make a Child Smile and the County Durham Foundation.
The black tie evening will feature a superb four course meal, a charity auction, live entertainment and a magician. There is also a raffle to win some terrific prizes, generously donated by a number of businesses and individuals.
Latimer Hinks hopes to dramatically increase the £10,000 plus sum it raised at its last charity ball back in 2006. Generously, HSBC will contribute to the monies raised £1 for £1 to a total of £1,000.
Anne Elliott, partner at Latimer Hinks said: “Latimer Hinks has played an important role in the Darlington community for well over a hundred years and we are proud of our support for local charities.
“Wynyard Hall is a superb venue and I am sure this will be a wonderful evening. These charities all provide a fantastic service to the people of the region and I hope we can raise a substantial amount of money to support their extremely worthwhile work.”
Graham Mack, TFM breakfast show presenter and ambassador for Make a Child Smile said: “We are so pleased to have been selected as one of the beneficiaries of the Latimer Hinks ball. Make a Child Smile makes a difference to the lives of sick and underprivileged children in this region every day and we can only do this with the help of local people and businesses and their amazing fundraising efforts.”
Kate Brown of County Durham Foundation said: “Our fund holders choose County Durham Foundation as we help them to find the best local good causes that match their wishes, and make it easy for them to give effectively each year. Latimer Hinks use the County Durham Foundation to identify projects to support in Darlington’s rural communities and, by combining their support with other funders we can help small, grass roots projects that find it really difficult to raise funds.”
Lynne Simmons from the Great North Air Ambulance said: “It is the generosity of organisations like Latimer Hinks that enables us to continue with this vital emergency service. Nobody knows when they made need to call on our services and it is often literally the difference between life and death that the air ambulance can respond quickly to patients.”
