March 12, 2008 – Boston, Massachusetts - Spector Travel is offering three Roots and Culture tours to Senegal in 2008 and 2009. Senegal the gateway to black Africa is one of the fastest growing travel destinations. The country is home to Goree Island’s Slave House and offers a wealth of outstanding tourist attractions. There are thriving vibrant cities, peaceful rural villages, pristine beaches and sites of historical significance.
This 7 day tour will travel to Goree Island which has been officially designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO; here you will explore and visit the Museum Maison des Eclaves (Slaves’ House) which used to be a slave trading port and was one of the first French settlements on the continent.
