FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 20, 2008 --
Quantum released a new version of Hydra web browser, first of its kind to introduce Office 2007 ribbon interface in a web browser environment. Although the combination of the two may appear to be rather unfortunate, Hydra proves it to be not only possible, but that ribbons fit very nicely into the picture.
Apart from its abundant extensions available out of the box, Hydra manages to get the best out of the ribbons. Its unique 'Web Gallery' feature gives a new dimension to the familiar concept of favorite web sites. Instead of hiding favorites in some obscure and hardly accessible submenu, Hydra exposes them directly to users through its integrated ribbon gallery - adding new site to the gallery is extremely simple - just click on a button and a thumbnail of the page you're viewing will be added to the gallery, making it easily accessible to the user. To some extent, this feature ressembles Opera's 'Speed Dial', however it's much more convenient as saved thumbnails are permanently accessible from the Home ribbon, without ressorting to keyboard shortcuts or speed dial page.
Of course, Web Gallery is not the only thing that makes Hydra a noteworthy experience. Once you get to know Hydra's sidebar and its numerous widgets ranging from Web 2.0 sites to Epicurious.com recipes or even to online flash games Sidebar's collection of built-in widgets can take hours of exploration. Powerful and customizable ad and popup blockers, as well as phishing check make browsing more comfortable, while the built-in Cleaner takes care of your surfing traces. Session restore, session save, auto-logger, form filler - to mention just few useful add-ons that you'll find in Hydra - make only a small part of what Hydra has to offer. And how about auto-refresh, tabs cloning, reopening closed tabs and coloring the open ones? It's all there, and even much more, packed in an extremely pleasant and stylish interface.
Hydra is freeware, available for download at http://www.hydrabrowser.com.
