United States of America (Press Release) March 25, 2008 --
“I am an Automotive Sales Professional.” That very simple statement can draw a variety of reactions from people. Some immediately look at me like I’m an insect, a very dangerous insect at that, one that needs to be crushed instantly. Others immediately start asking questions, you know, wanting to get the “real truth” on how to avoid being taken advantage of by, well, by me, an Automotive Sales Professional. Few along the way actually show respect for the service I provide and ask intelligent questions about vehicles and products. I’m sure everyone in the car industry agrees -- what we do definitely invokes a response from others around us – some positive and some negative.
How do you deal with the public perception of what we do? How do you deal with the stresses and strains that are put on us by a very rewarding yet demanding industry? Who do you talk to that understands and can encourage you? These are all questions that I have asked myself. My answer usually is that I talk with other car sales professionals. These are the people who understand my challenges, can sympathize and even offer good advice. This can be tricky too though. Let’s face it; these same people are my competition. Ever try talking to someone in you own dealership? Word gets around quick. It may not be all bad, but it happens. So I asked myself, what resources do Automotive Sales Professionals have? Like everyone now days, I check the internet. Wow! All of the sites are geared toward helping the consumer with their questions and issues. So, “where do I go”? It looked like no where. Unacceptable! My thought is if you don’t like something, change it. That is how CarSalesForum.com came to be. The site is completely free, no strings attached, no $399 dealer fee. On this site you can be as public or as private as you want your choice. The important thing is that you are free to interact, discuss, and even argue points that affect us daily. It’s also important to understand that as a group, Automotive Sales Professionals have the power to effect change. So I’d like to invite you to join us. Help us grow and be interesting with your viewpoints and insights. Along the way you may learn something and you may help a future generation of Automotive Sales Professionals learn from your experience and expertise. www.CarSalesForum.com.
