United States of America (Press Release) March 28, 2008 --
A blood pressure study performed by the University of Chicago’s Medical School and associated hypertension expert have found that through a NUCCA spinal correction, blood pressure was reduced better than the two leading blood pressure medications combined. This ground-breaking story was featured March 25th, 2008 on ABC's Good Morning America and WebMD.
The NUCCA Director of Research believes that ABC’s Dr. Tim Johnson’s assessment of the study is correct. It is “very intriguing”, “important” and “absolutely deserves more study”. Dr. Johnson stated that the area of the brainstem where the atlas vertebra is located is involved with regulation of blood pressure.
Tim Johnson, MD, (Boston) and George Bakris, MD, (Chicago & lead author of the study) realize that there was a “very significant drop in blood pressure” and realize the importance of future research to find out which people can benefit.
The tool of the NUCCA doctor is a light-touch upper cervical adjustment. The purpose of the adjustment is to mechanically return the head and neck to its normal position, reducing body stress and returning organ function to normal. Local to Atlanta is Dr. Russell Friedman, DC, one of only 20 board certified NUCCA doctors in the world and the only fully certified member with a practice in Georgia. He is also a member of the NUCCA research team. Dr. Friedman is available for interviews and hopes to broaden the knowledge regarding this study. His website at www.FeelGreatAtlanta.com is a great source of information on the NUCCA method. Further information on NUCCA research can be found at www.ucrf.org . The Upper Cervical Research Foundation is seeking financial support for this important research and related research.
