United States of America (Press Release) March 28, 2008 --
Join mystery author Bernadette Steele on her first virtual book tour with Pump Up Your Book Promotion Public Relations as she travels the blogosphere in April to talk about her debut novel “The Poetry of Murder”. In this book, aspiring African American poet Geneva Anderson finds her aunt murdered in her office at International House and is stunned to hear she is the heir to her aunt’s estate that is worth millions. Geneva is arrested for her aunt’s murder, and in order to clear her name she must navigate through a web of lies, secrets, and revenge to learn The Poetry of Murder. This is the first in a continuing series of mysteries featuring amateur sleuth, Geneva Anderson.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Bernadette moved into the International House at the University of Chicago in 2004. The multicultural environment and gothic architecture of I-House and the U of C campus inspired her to write her first murder mystery novel, The Poetry of Murder (Oak Tree Press, February 2008).
As a resident of I-House, she served as a Representative-at-Large on the Residents’ Council from 2004 to 2006 and as the election coordinator in 2006. Bernadette has been an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority since 1999. She has served as her chapter’s webmaster from 2004 to 2007 and as a corresponding secretary from 2004 to 2005.
Bernadette is a resident of Chicago and lives in the Hyde Park community.
“It’s great to have Bernadette onboard,” says Cheryl Malandrinos, Tour Coordinator for Pump Up Your Book Promotion Public Relations. “Her technology savvy has been a big boost to her virtual book tour and I can’t wait to curl up with her first cozy murder mystery.”
