Comedian, Robby Wagner, performs record breaking stand-up routine on March 9th, 2008 with 10 hours and 7 minutes straight.

PHOENIX, AZ- Stand-up comedian, Robby Wagner, performed a record breaking 10 hour comedy routine on March 9th, 2008. The performance was in honor of his mother, Patricia Porter, a stroke victim who passed away last year on March 9th. In her memory, Robby performed 1 hour of stand-up for each year since her first stroke. Totaling 10 hours and 7 minutes, the show beats the previous record of 7 hours and 11 minutes, set by Dane Cook at the World Famous Laugh Factory in December of last year, by nearly 3 hours.
The show was held at Toso’s Sports Grill in Phoenix, Arizona, where Mr. Wagner hit the stage at 11am and continued on until 9:07pm. “It was a truly amazing and touching show to witness,” said owner Dave De La Toso. “Robby had it from start to finish. I’m glad he held this event at my venue for I lost my father to heart disease.”
In addition, Robby dedicated part of the show to the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign. In an attempt to raise awareness to the nation’s #1 and #3 causes of death, which are heart disease and stroke respectively, he spoke about his experiences in dealing with both of them. The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to building healthier lives, free of heart disease and stroke. In fiscal year 2006-07, the association invested more than $554 million in research, professional and public education, advocacy and community service programs to help all Americans live longer, healthier lives. Prior to the record attempt, Kerrin Kleinschmidt, Marketing Director of the Foundation, said “Robby offers a new approach to raise awareness for our organization and we hope he breaks the stand-up record!”
During the 10 hour marathon, Robby kept the material clean and suitable for all ages. Although the unbelievable show lasted an entire 10 hours and 7 minutes, Robby claims “If my mom would’ve lived 20 years as a stroke victim, I would’ve performed 20 hours to honor her.” Fellow comedian J. Miguel agrees, adding “We’ve been performing together for a few years now and I can honestly say Robby could’ve gone an entire 24 hours!” To perform stand-up for 10 hours is incredible. To perform it from the heart and for a cause is incredibly genuine.
