FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 2, 2008 -- From Sussex County, Angkor Wat to the Asian jungles the dynamic trio Stuart Annand, Shauna Thompson and Jeanie Greenhaugh will Exhibit Black & White Photographs printed the old fashion way in a wet darkroom. The days of traditional photography may be numbered but this hasn't stopped this trio from photographing portraits of dogs and their masters, striking architectural views and documentary images. This adventure began almost a year ago when Jeanie invited Stuart and Shauna into her darkroom to experience the vast world of photography.

Stuart Annand of Lincoln Delaware, first became interested in photography when he discovered his father's photography equipment on the top pantry shelf. He enjoyed good results but has greatly benefitted from Jeanie's tutelage.

Shauna Thompson, a Sussex County native, has witnessed many changes in the area over the course of her lifetime. She decided that she would like to memorialize places and scenes that are disappearing from the Sussex landscape. She felt that black and white photography was an appropriate medium to capture the essence of the passing era. Thanks to Jeanie Greenhaugh's willingness to teach her photography and dark room technic, she was able to put on paper images that, until now, were only in her head. She is looking forward to sharing those images with you.

Jeanie Greenhaugh is the director and owner of 205 Lavinia Street an art gallery, health and development center. She has been interested in photography most of her life. The photos she has chosen will be from her journeys in Asia including Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Jeanie finds words can't describe the gratification she feels after almost a year of laborious work, the magic of watching the prints of her students work become an artful reality is a beautiful experience.

To quote the famous master Henri Cartier-Bresson "To take a photograph is to align the head, the eye and the heart. It's a way of life...To take a photograph is to hold one’s breath when all faculties converge in a face of fleeing reality. It is at that moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."

For your enjoyment, on Saturday evening a jam session for all interested musicians will take place. Please bring your instrument and join in the art and musical evening. Also a video will be shown of the procedures used in the darkroom.

Don't miss this rare opportunity on Saturday April 26th!
