01 April 2008 - SMC Networks (www.smc.com), a leading provider of LAN hardware and broadband connectivity devices, today announced the availability of its TigerStore™ SOHO NAS Storage Server, a complete storage solution for home and small office environments. The SMCNAS02 storage server has high-speed networking capabilities, along with a built-in iTunes® music server, to allow easy access and sharing of data files, music, photos and videos.
With approximately 1.2billion songs downloaded in 2007 , there is a significant increase in the number of people replacing their CD collections with digital music files stored on their computers. Precious family photographs and videos are also being stored digitally. Easy to install and maintain, the TigerStore™ SOHO NAS storage server is an ideal central network data resource for homes and small of-fices, offering common shared and protected storage, with user defined access rights.
The SMCNAS02’s incorporated card reader (compatible with SD, MMC, MS cards) enables the user to easily upload files directly from a digital camera. The SOHO storage server comes with two slots for 3.5” SATA II hard disks supporting up to 2TB (Terabytes) of storage using the latest 1TB hard disk drives and in-cludes 3 USB 2.0 ports to connect and share a printer or add additional USB stor-age. The one-touch backup button means the internal card reader and any exter-nal USB storage devices are backed-up effortlessly.
