United States of America (Press Release) April 4, 2008 --
ST. PAUL, MN, USA (April 3, 2008)—Grace McNamara Inc., producer of the International Window Coverings EXPO (IWCE) and publisher of Window Fashions magazine, is pleased to announce the 2008 IWCE, which ran March 26–29, 2008, surpassed exhibitor and attendee expectations with attendance, extensive product offerings, and engaging educational opportunities. Over 6,200 industry professionals were in attendance, despite preconceptions of potential low attendance due to the recent state of the nation’s economy as well as the tornado that swept directly through downtown Atlanta less than two weeks before the show.
While pre-registration numbers were lower than past years’, indicative of the obvious challenging economic times, high amounts of drive-in traffic increased show attendance numbers, proving that industry professionals are committed to the value of gathering annually to see, touch, and learn about the latest window-fashions products. Attendance reflected the overall need for information as attendees were seeking to improve their businesses through seminars and resources, and recharge their enthusiasm and inspiration at industry events by networking with and celebrating other professionals.
The packed show floor—with nearly 20% more sold exhibit space than the 2007 Washington, DC venue—hosted a broad selection of informational opportunities for excited attendees and high-caliber exhibits featuring innovative products and resources, all of which contributed to another successful EXPO.
Showcased in the Exhibit Hall C of the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA, the industry’s largest window-fashions trade show and the extensive CEU-accredited and WFCP-certified seminar program, supported the event’s theme, Touch. The show floor offered four special resources for attendees and exhibitors: the TrendSpot, new this year—the WFCP Lounge, the Construction Zone, and the Green Pavilion by TODL. These destinations offered current design and consumer buying patterns, as well as hands-on workroom creativity and education, informative presentations, and eco-friendly know-how and products, resulting in unprecedented industry networking on the show floor.
Keynotes Edward Walker and Suze Orman reached out to attendees, and industry players and their products were recognized at the 2008 WCMA Product Innovation Awards. The first-ever WOW! Awards Ceremony brought attendees and exhibitors together to celebrate the careers and accomplishments of many industry professionals, along with winning designs, talents, generosity, and efforts that continually touch our industry.
Additional post-show coverage and product highlights will be featured in Window Fashions magazine, as well as on the WF Blog at
