FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 7, 2008 --
San Francisco, CA, April 2008-- Tiger kills San Francisco Zoo patron, injures two others -- One zoo visitor was mauled to death and two others severely injured when a Siberian tiger escaped from its grotto at the San Francisco Zoo early Christmas evening and went on a bloody rampage in front of terrified zoo patrons. This story of the San Francisco tiger mauling can be viewed at this link featured in the San Francisco Chronicle:

At the San Francisco Zoo, the animal, a 4-year-old tiger named Tatiana, “did not leave the grotto through its only door,” zookeepers said. The grotto is surrounded by a 15-foot-wide moat and a 20-foot-high wall.Really, whose fault was it? Is it the responsibility of the zoo keeper for not stabilizing the animal’s habitat or were the animals simply defending themselves against the patron provoking the animals involved? Whatever the case is the people who are in charge of maintenance and staff of these zoos should be educated appropriately in all that is involved in caring for the animals that they maintain. It is also a matter of the maturity and the awareness of those that support our zoos that should understand that these animals have been taken out of their natural habitat to live amongst us. We need to believe in the trust, safety and beauty of our zoos once again.
