FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 7, 2008 -- CHRIS FORD : WHEN THE SUN GROWS COLD
LABEL : TRACK 37 RECORDINGS
CAT No : TK37/002/08

When The Sun Grows Cold is the first single taken from Chris Ford’s second album All Caught Up. This follows on from the critically acclaimed success of his debut album This Atlantic Low.

The story behind this album is best summed up in Chris’s own words. “Writing and recording these ten songs has been a spiritual and emotional road trip. I took the songs and stripped them down to their very core. The reason was that I wanted to return to a simplicity, directness and intimacy with the listener and myself”

Bruce Springsteen’s album Nebraska was a guiding light for Chris. “Structured songs of this nature are rarely stripped down to their very essence and recorded with such honesty and immediacy. I wanted to make an album with the same kind of spirit as Nebraska…….”

The songs are : 1. When Every Single Word is True 2. A Simple Truth 3. It’s All For Love 4. A Little Rain Must Fall 5. When The Sun Grows Cold 6. The Ever After 7. Insecure 8. Shine 9. The War Of The Worlds 10. All Caught Up

Chris’s music has a literate quality within its sub text and has recently been compared to auteur’s such as Harry Nilsson and Jim Webb. At the same time there is a pop sensibility which embraces echoes of the Beatles, early McCartney through to the angular experimentation and charm of Badly Drawn Boy and Bright Eyes.

Biography : Chris is a self taught musician. He learned to play guitar and piano with one purpose in mind. His total passion is writing songs, followed closely by a love of playing live. Based in London he has been the main singer and song writer of two British bands. To find greater expression Chris decided to go solo and set about recording his debut album This Atlantic Low. Comprising of eleven songs and three instrumental pieces the album is based on characters from the Martin Amis novel London Fields. This Atlantic Low has enjoyed considerable critical success. Tracks such as My Strength My Weakness, Epitaph and The Morning Light have also been heavily play listed on radio in Ireland, the UK and the US where Chris has a rapidly growing fan base. Having recently secured the rights Chris is also currently working on songs for a musical version of the John Osborne play Look Back In Anger.
