Kansas woman launches website to teach people worldwide how to learn the latest software techniques through free high-quality videos.

Former computer teacher Stacy Fisher has always been the person to go to when friends and family have questions on computer software. When looking for resources to help her family and friends, Fisher found that the Internet was full of confusing tutorials that never explained how to do anything directly. She took matters into her own hands and started making high-quality video tutorials and posting them for free online.
“Written tutorials never seemed to explain how to do anything very well and I got tired of flipping back and forth between the software program and the directions,” said Fisher. “I really wanted to find a good resource of video tutorials but all the video tutorials I found you either had to pay for or they were very poor quality – I could barely see what was going on.”
Fisher developed TechTutor.TV to give software users an alternative to the confusing written directions and bad quality video tutorials. The website includes high-quality videos that zoom in so every action taken can be seen. Fisher explains what she is doing in the videos as she does them so no viewer gets left behind. “I love the fact that a user can pause, rewind or fast forward if they need too,” Fisher says. “It really is the ideal way to learn how to anything from mail merging in Word to cleaning up a digital photo in Photoshop,” adds Fisher. All the content on TechTutor.TV is offered for free. “I believe that this type of content should be offered for free,” remarks Fisher. “I want to help all computer users learn without having to pay to do so.”
Fisher says that currently she has over 400 video tutorials over 14 different types of software. “I’m adding more and more videos every week as well as new programs,” says Fisher. “Right now I have videos on Photoshop, Word, Excel, Dreamweaver, Flash, Access, Fireworks, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Paint.Net, PowerPoint, Premiere and Publisher.” “I will be adding new programs and Internet applications in the upcoming months,” adds Fisher.
A unique component of the website allows users to request a tutorial. “Visitors can request a tutorial over any type of subject and software program,” says Fisher. “This is an exciting way for a user to get a video tutorial on the technique or project they want to learn,” adds Fisher.
