Australia, Commonwealth of (Press Release) April 8, 2008 --
A online project simply titled “Count High” attempts to use the collaborative and artistic resources of the Internet to create a film, compiled from thousands of individual artworks.
The project, which opens this weekend, will call for submissions from anyone who can make them and with the aim of collecting over 100,000 individual images, the project will run for one year. The only catch is, the artworks have to contain a number and you don’t get to choose it – the numbers are handed out sequentially to avoid doubles. Apart from that, the images can be created in any medium; paint, pencil, crayon or whatever the artist chooses.
The project will provide artists with an opportunity to show their talents, no matter their background, Director of the Count High project, Adam R. Box stated, “My hands are off here. Every artwork will be included, and there will be a lot of them, as long as they don’t double on the numbers. Each piece will be arranged sequentially, so age, race, even talent isn’t an issue - there will be a position for your art.”
Count High runs from this April 13th and will continue for one year. For further information on the project, including how to submit your own artwork, visit www.counthigh.com
