FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 9, 2008 --
There has been a lot of discussion about the New Zealand company Affiliate Junktion after they starting their new pay per lead program. In this discussion there has been stated both myths and facts. After having been in the program for a while, it is time to clear out what is myths and what is the truth.
Steinar Sund,
Let’s start with the facts. Affiliate Junktion is a New Zealand company offering a free pay per lead program. They offer their affiliates a “guarantee” that the can be able to make minimum $150 a day within 30 days. Many ask themselves if this is a scam or if they will ever get paid.
The affiliates start with a payment of $2 per lead, but the payments increases as you make more leads. The top payment is $5 per lead.
The program is free to join. You have to sign up with Ipower for a hosting plan and you have in fact to pay for that, about $60-70 for one year hosting. But you get this money back from Affiliate Junktion as soon as you have signed up. They give a sign-up bonus of $75.
You are provided with some free advertising tools, that is about $155 in advertising credits with Yahoo and Google. You are also given your own affiliate website.
Together with the website package you also get a training program that you have to work with. It is not very heavy stuff, although there are a lot of pages. It is important to work through the whole material before you start. The training material consists among others of Brad Callen’s book: Google Adwords Made Easier, and some other stuff.
These are all facts. I joined the program because I was curious and wanted to check it out, to see if it really works. There are a lot of statements about this program:
1) It is impossible to make money with this program. The advertising is so expensive that you only make money for the Affiliate Junktion and not for yourself. This is a very common myth, and of course it is not true. If this had been the truth, nobody would work for Affiliate Junktion, not me either. I myself started a little too fast and had not worked properly with the training material before I started. The first 24 hours I however made money, but only $4. Thanks to the free advertising credits, I didn’t loose money. But after studying Brad Callen’s book, things went better. Now I pay not more than $0,15-0,16 per click with Google adwords and my campaigns now are quite successful.
2) The conversion rate is horrific. The Affiliate Junktion promises very high conversion rate, between 50 and 65 percent. Some say that the conversion rate is lower than 20%. It is very important to work with the material in the training guide about landing pages. If the conversion rate is low you have to check the coherence between your ads and your landing page. I had a very low conversion rate in the start. My conversion rata now varies between 30-40% and 65-70 on my best days.
3) The Affiliate Junktion doesn't pay their affiliates. This is clearly a myth and nobody, as far as I have seen has given proof for this. In fact, all affiliates I have talked to have got their payment. There have however been some problems the last months about payments through Paypal. The Paypal option is unavailable now, but they are working with other alternatives to payment with checks. Now the only opion is checks. You get your payment, but it takes a little time. How long time, may vary, but I hear that most affiliates get their payments within a week or so. Usually the affiliates get paid the last day in every month, but you have to have stayed in the program for at least 45 days to qualify for your first payment.
4) It is impossible to make as much as $150 a day with this program. I hear this statement quite often and it is simply not true. However, it is possible to make no money with this program, also, if you don’t advertise. I have found that it is all a matter of advertising. It is not a problem to get your ads clicked, and with a conversion rate of 50% it is not difficult to make 75 people sign up per day. That will give you $150 a day. But many affiliates make much more. When your payment rises to $5 per lead, 75 signups will give you $375 a day. In fact many affiliates make more than $500 a day in this program, even people that has not been in the program very long. I used however a little more than 30 days to manage that, but it is, as I say, a matter of advertising and of the size of your advertising budget. You spend the free credits very soon, and after that you have to pay for you campaigns. There are free advertising tools to use, but I have so far not found anything more effective than PPC advertising, of course I use free advertising in addition to this. I was very careful with my daily budget the first month, but I see that it is not difficult to get a lot of clicks. A keyword tool like Keyword Elite is recommended to get a lot of targeted keywords.
Conclusion:The Affiliate Junktion is not a scam. It is possible to make money with this program, even $150 a day or more, but you need to calculate some money for your advertising campaign - or be very good to find successful free advertising.
