After GRC SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) ..is this time for GRC ImaaS (Implementation-as-a-Service) ?
Like clients expect Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) option from software vendors, they should also explore and ask for GRC Implementation-as-a-Service (ImaaS) from the implementation vendors.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 11, 2008 --
In case you've been keeping track of adoption of GRC as pure Software-as-a-service (SaaS) and Hybrid SaaS offering, the trends seem to be really encouraging. One of the GRC SaaS vendor, Axentis , claims to have enrolled 720,000 users already out of which around 50,000 are Sarbanes-Oxley users. Forrester estimates that one-third of GRC deals are going to software-as-a-service (SaaS) vendors, and they expect this to increase to as much as 50 per cent . These are definite indicators that customers are keenly looking for various as-a-service options for GRC.
While there are compelling reasons for companies to use GRC SaaS option, not every company in every situation is yet ready to adopt GRC SaaS. Many of them still need to buy software and get that implemented to meet their very specific GRC requirements. Usually GRC software implementation projects have been criticized to be lengthy, cumbersome and requiring massive efforts especially the external efforts. There is a strong need for innovation on this front. Like clients expect Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) option from software vendors, they should also explore and ask for GRC Implementation-as-a-Service (ImaaS) from the implementation vendors. In ImaaS model, GRC software implementation vendors should be able to provide SaaS like pricing for implementation projects to clients which will be pay-as-you-go or pay-per-use.
ImaaS for GRC will help clients in many ways. It will allow them to do GRC software implementation projects in a risk-free way since they will not be paying for implementation fees upfront. It is the vendor who will need to bear the project implementation cost. Also vendors would have much higher motivation for making the project successful since their recovery of implementation fees will be linked with the usage of implemented software. ImaaS has the potential to bring a fresh breath of air into GRC space and can be an attractive and valuable proposition both for clients and vendors. It can unleash the pool of important GRC initiatives which are held up in companies due to the risks associated with spending on GRC software especially the implementation fees.
