Dog owners/lovers wanted... join in the free weekly giveaway at Cuppa Writing for the Soul blog

(Free-Press-Release.com) April 11, 2008 -- Cuppa writing for the soul blog owner and chief blogger, CeliaSue Hecht, is sponsoring a free weekly giveaway contest (as well as several contests soon to be announced) at her blog celiasue.wordpress.com.

This week's contest is called Name Those Traveling Dog Panties... and asks participants to vote on whether the traveling dog panties should be pink or yellow... The contest was inspired by Olga the Traveling Bra. The contest is fun and winners will receive a fun-filled to the brim goodie bag with dog toys and more by DoggyTugs...

The traveling Dog Panties will be utilized to raise awareness about pit bulls as well as dogs in abusive situations (and raise money for a pit bull education and healing center)... A soon to be announced Creative Expression contest will offer larger prizes for seven lucky winners who write essays, stories, poems, and use other artistic media to talk about their All American Angels (formerly known as Big Bad Bullies)...

Between 71 and 85 percent of women entering domestic violence shelters report that a partner had threatened, injured or killed the family pet, according to a study done in 1997. And when women are considering fleeing abusive homes, they often have to choose between leaving their pet behind or staying in the abusive relationship. 

The American Humane Society has a PAWS program to help alleviate domestic violence. Best Friends Animal Society, BAD RAP and other animal rescue groups are taking care of some of the Michael Vicks dogs (with great success).

Friends of pit bulls, dog lovers and/or owners are welcome to participate in these contests. Pet business owners and animal rescue groups are also welcome to play.
