United States of America (Press Release) April 11, 2008 --
Orlando, Fl. April, 10, 2008
In a time of financial crisis, one common mistake companies make is cutting their advertising budgets. But Ad Exec, Hernan Tagliani, says, “Don’t cut it, Diversify it.”
Tagliani, President and CEO of The Group Advertising, one of the most prestigious Hispanic Advertising agencies in Central Florida says, “In times of crisis, reach out to markets that haven’t been tapped.”
One of these untapped markets is the Hispanic market which Tagliani says,” Can play a big role in getting the most for your dollar.”
The Group Advertising president went on to say that many companies are realizing that the business model they have been using for so many years is not working. Sales are very poor and the competition is very aggressive. So to improve the success of your business, he recommends, creating programs that appeal to different markets and cultures.
“Reaching the Hispanic market has become the corporate mantra,” says Tagliani. “If you fail to do business with this segment of our society, you’re putting your company at a competitive disadvantage.”
Currently Hispanics spend more than $900 Billion dollars on goods and services and by 2020 experts say the purchasing power of the Hispanic market in the United States will be close to $2.5 trillion dollars.
A research study by The Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA), shows corporations dedicate only 5.2% of their overall advertising budget to the Hispanic market. The study goes on to say that Hispanics are very loyal consumers, and use “word of mouth” to pass on their buying habits from generation to generation.
So how do you prevent the loss of this valuable source of income for your company? Tagliani says,” Use a Hispanic marketing firm that has a deep understanding of Latino core values.”
Many companies use employees or translation companies to handle their Spanish ad campaigns. A big mistake, says Tagliani. “Translating English advertising campaigns into Spanish can get your company into trouble if you don’t understand that in the Spanish culture there are variations. The message might not make sense or it may be insulting.”
In other words “It’s Lost in the Translation”
