The Ad Database (http://www.theaddatabase.com) launched today, enabling small and medium-sized companies to freely search for online ad opportunities by CPM, monthly cost, ad size, basic demographic information, and locale as applicable.
It enables companies who may have never advertised online or at all to profile the online ad landscape without committing to an ad agency or network.
The site is free both for publishers to list information and to search. Listings can contain basic demographic and ad space info for a particular site, graphical thumbnails of ad sizes, specifications, and a link to publisher's media kit.
The site emerged from the founder's need to find online advertising spaces for a friend's newly launched business, and observing that publisher PDF media kit information was more useful if made searchable.
Listings are editor-reviewed. The site launched with about one thousand publisher sites indexed, and more added on a daily basis.
