Directive Communication International (Asia) will be selecting 12 Singapore youths to design and head a revolution designed to develop innovation and leadership. The selection will be made from the lesser privileged youths in Singapore whom would not be able to afford such a transformational International leadership development course and designed to affect at least 30% of secondary school level student to excel as leaders.
With Singapore preparing to host the ‘Youth Olympics’ what better than to couple the efforts of the nation and develop leadership in tangent with what the spirit of the games does.
The revolution concept applies Directive Communication Psychology with strategies from the US Special forces to create chain reaction change that maintains empowerment and motivation in Groups. The objective is to challenge the status quo and enrich those who don’t fit in the “traditional” mold of youth leadership or scholastic competence.
12 youths in the age range of Sec 3 and Pre U 1 will be carefully hand-picked to be part of the program funded entirely by Directive Communication International (Asia). The workshop series, scheduled for late May is a modified version of what professional consultants and trainers go through to become Directive Communication certified Practitioners and Partners.
DCI, well known for its colored brain and psychological applications to business effectiveness and leadership, plans to inculcate these chosen youths with an in-depth knowledge of Directive Communication Psychology and how to apply it; to influence and reinvent the youth culture and attitudes that are will allow youths to reach their full potential.
The intensive program spans over 2 months and is laced with projects and applications of this group Psychology to develop confidence and leadership in the youths. Leslie Choudhury, a Directive Communication Training Partner in Singapore and one of the facilitators for this project said, “When we’ve done this with companies and seen the transformation of their people, its almost like seeing them introduced to a new world they never felt could be theirs, and when we keep getting emails on their progress and how we have changed their lives even 5 months after an initiative, I can just imagine what it will do for Singapore youths , I would love to be involved in helping Singapore’s future leadership”.
According to Founder of the Directive Communication Psychology and CEO of DCI, Mr. Arthur F Carmazzi, “When I was young I had dyslexia and ADS and was branded by educators as ‘stupid’. It wasn’t until one teacher helped me to understand my true potential that my attitude and then grades turned around. If not for that one point in my life, my destiny would have been far more ‘average’.”
Carmazzi also added that a youth revolution MUST come from the youths themselves, ”Too many adults underestimate the power and ability of the younger generation. Often by trying to impose rules, we end up cultivating internal rebellion or a surrender to mediocrity. That is why we want to work with only 12 young hand-picked revolutionaries that we will carefully select, whom can use our methods to really make a big difference in their future and even the future of Singapore.” Mr Carmazzi was also chosen as one of the top 10 Leadership gurus in the world for 2008 and is well known for his international contributions to developing leaders and enhancing corporate cultures.
The criteria to be selected as one of the 12 beneficiaries is a closely guarded secret. “We don’t want individuals to try and skew the selection” says Carmazzi.
While DCI has created numerous “Revolutions” for organisations the likes The Emirates Group to local companies like Barang Barang and Winson Press, this will be it’s first project serving the public and future leaders. After the program, DCI plans to sponsor events created and designed by the chosen 12 to maintain their development and the evolution of other youths whom they will reach and influence.

DCI will be asking the schools to assist in identifying, assisting and even monitoring the transformational process these 12 youths; future potential leaders in Singapore.
