What: Cooper Boone will be performing an Environmentally Friendly set of fresh acoustic music on Friday April 18th at Earth Day NY. His sound system is TOTALLY GREEN AND POWERED BY HUMAN ENERGY! Spectators can pedal a stationary bicycle, which provides the energy for the system. This is a crowd friendly event and great for kids and adults alike. Not only is it a vibrant musical experience it is an educational one as well.
Cooper Boone’s ‘Small Change Big Planet Tour’ is traveling around the United States, encouraging kids and adults to make a small change in their lives that can collectively make a big impact on the environment. Sponsored by local organizations such as schools and businesses committed to making a difference. Cooper and his acoustic band will travel to several locations within each city they travel to including schools, museums, TV/Radio stations and music venues. (www.myspace.com/smallchangebigplanet)
Who: At a very young age Cooper had a calling but it wasn’t music. He wanted to help people through their darkest hours and found that purpose as a psychologist. After receiving his doctorate in psychology, he left his him in the heartland and moved to where many would consider the Mecca of psychotherapy- New York City. During his career, he has helped hundreds of families deal with addiction, trauma, obesity and illnesses such as cancer and AIDS as well as the aftermath of 9-11. From his work with patients in prisons, city projects, hospitals and clinics, Cooper has seen it all…and those stories live in his music.
Coop’s myspace page (www.myspace.com/cooperboonemusic) now appears in the top 30 of Indie Country Artists and has airplay on over 30 radio stations worldwide. He has played to sold-out crowds at The Cutting Room and Crash Mansion in New York City, The NYC AIDS Walk In Central Park, The National 4th of July Celebration in Washington, DC, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts with Trace Adkins and Nashville’s world famous Wildhorse Saloon at the CMA Music Festival for ABC TV. Most recently, Cooper penned the tune, “Made in America”, for John Ratzenberger’s Travel Channel show ‘John Ratzenberger’s Made in America’.
This is a big year for Coop. This summer he is touring nationwide with his Small Change Big Planet tour along with several NASCAR events. He will also be opening for country superstar Craig Morgan in May 2008.
