United States of America (Press Release) April 19, 2008 --
Phoenix is still nursing the hangover from a recent visit by the Purple Ape (http://phoenix.travelape.com) . The big guy strolled through the town in a Hawaiian shirt, shorts and flip flops. Even though his natural habitat is more strewn with trees and vegetation, he had a heck of a time hitting all of the hot spots and sights.
Something you may not know about Travelape is that he is a big history buff. During his trip to Phoenix he spent an entire afternoon in the Arizona Capital Museum. He is a sucker for neat architecture and a free guided tour.
To prove he isn’t just a travel nerd, Travel Ape made sure to dance the night away with his standard group of admirers. He was jamming to the DJ over at Myst and had 11 banana Martinis in a row. People are still talking about the Purple Ape’s dance moves. (FYI big fella, the electric slide went out 20 years ago.)
“One of my friends who plays for the Phoenix Suns called me and said 'Ape, come catch a playoff game.' What the heck! I hadn’t been to Phoenix since Charles Barkley was on the team”, Travelape replied when asked why he wanted to go to Phoenix.
About The Ape:
Travelape was born in 1999 and began his globetrotting almost immediately. His travel research guide has been visited by over 50 million travelers since its launch. He has packed the site with maps, links, rate search tools, reviews, virtual tours and more. Visit www.travelape.com for more on the ape.
