MAO announces Springfest on the Riverwalk - A Community Music and Art Festival
MAO will be sponsoring the inaugural community art and music festival, Springfest on the Riverwalk, this May 17th from 10am-4pm. Springfest is going to be an annual event that celebrates the area’s non profit agencies in a family-friendly festival in Montgomery’s beautiful new Riverwalk and Amphitheater. There is no charge to the public to attend.
Non-profit agencies will educate the public about their organizations, raise awareness and conduct health promotion services. Some of the organizations participating include the Humane Society, American Red Cross, Sickle Cell Foundation, Salvation Army, Montgomery AIDS Outreach, LifeSouth Community Blood Center, American Cancer Society, Lighthouse, PFLAG, Joy to Life, Goodwill Industries, Council on Substance Abuse, Volunteer Information Center and SANYO.
There will be live music, entertainment and artists along the Riverwalk, food and fun for all ages including a Kidsfest with games, the Riverfront’s splash pad, moonwalks, gymnastics (The Big Green Bus), face painting, a rock climbing wall, a magician, Big Mo from the Biscuits and other characters that kids love. There will also be an exhibition by the Col. Biggs Waterski Show Team, boat and wake board demos on the river and as much fun as we can pack into the Riverwalk.
There will be family friendly music and performances on the amphitheater stage including The Montgomery Ballet, Clint and Kip, the Southern Comfort Blues Band, Pan Hellenistic Alumni Step Teams and the Dimensions of Praise Gospel Choir.
Springfest brings non-profit agencies together to build a happier, healthier, stronger community in a family friendly festival on the Riverwalk.
