United States of America (Press Release) April 22, 2008 -- Wilton, NH, U.S.–Moscow, Russia–April 21, 2008

Auriga, a U.S.-based software R&D and IT outsourcing services provider with development centers in Russia, presented the Russian software services industry at the conference themed “China, India and Russia—Our Partners in the New Global Economy” in Boston, Mass, on April 17.

Organized by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC), this unparalleled event brought together government officials and business leaders from the U.S. and three of the fastest growing global markets - China, India and Russia. The summit provided insights and best practices to help U.S. companies enhance their understanding of these markets and highlight opportunities for business development and cooperation. Keynote addresses were presented by Lawrence Summers, world-class economist and expert on globalization, and Meredith Attwell Baker, Assistant Secretary of Communications and Information, U.S. Department of Commerce.

Russia was the focus of attention at the conference. The workshop session on “Doing Business in Russia—Innovation, Software Development Services and Sales Opportunities” gathered the summit participants interested in IT, Russia and new business opportunities. The session was organized and hosted by the U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce of New England that acted as the conference partner association. The workshop provided an in-depth analysis and practical view of the fastest growing IT market in the world and its dynamic software services sector. It offered a unique platform to discuss why and how Massachusetts companies can benefit from the new Russian economy.

Members of the Russian delegation included Ilya Ponomarev, Vice Chairman of the Information Technology and Communications Committee and Deputy of the Russian State Duma, and CEOs and top executives of Russia’s leading IT companies, including Auriga, Exigen Services, GGA Software Services, Jet Infosystems, Luxoft, UpScale Software, and others.

Alexis Sukharev, Auriga President, RUSSOFT Board Member and USRCCNE Board Member, led a discussion on Russia’s software and services industry. In his presentation “Russia’s Software Services Industry—From Kitchen Operations to World-Class Companies”, he outlined an impressive history of the nation’s burgeoning software and services sector and highlighted its strengths and differentiators. Sukharev pointed out that the phenomenal growth and extraordinary business opportunities are making Russia the focus of global IT investment. He also spoke about the country’s unrivaled engineering resources. “Russia stands out as a unique IT talent hub,” said Alexis Sukharev. “It’s one of the reasons why global leaders are increasingly turning to Russia with the most complex problems. Russia’s dynamic growth and unmatched technology talent allow us to look with confidence and optimism towards the future.”

Commenting on the Boston summit, Alexis Sukharev said, “The Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council has done a great job. The conference has provided an unprecedented chance for U.S. companies to meet, network, and learn directly from Russian, Indian and Chinese leaders about business opportunities in these important global markets.”

The MassTLC Spring Conference has been viewed as a follow-up to the Council's history-making meeting with Mikhail Gorbachev, former leader of the Soviet Union. It continued the Council's tradition of welcoming outstanding global political leaders and international technology executives, thus providing unique insight and practical intelligence for companies participating in today's global economy.

The summit program was developed and organized in cooperation with New England—Chinese Information and Networking Association (NECINA), The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE)—Boston Chapter, the U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce of New England (USRCCNE), and with assistance from RUSSOFT and the US-India Business Alliance.
