FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 23, 2008 -- SEVERAL customers of Progress Software in the Philippines gain additional revenue by offering their in-house software application for car dealerships, local government units (LGUs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
From being plain users of Progress databases and software-development tools, Honda Cars Caloocan Inc., the Negros Occidental provincial government and PhilCom Corp. are examples of organizations that have leverage their investment and expertise in Progress Software and offered their software solutions based on the Progress platform to outside entities.

These three represent a snapshot of innovative Progress Software users in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, according to Dinalo Yao, president, Information Managers Inc. (Infoman), a leading IT-solutions provider and the sole distributor of Progress Software products fir the Philippines.
After decade of using Progress Software for internal application development and enhancement, dealer Honda Cars Caloocan now offers an Integrated Dealership Management System (IDMS) that handles vehicle service, sales and parts including finance, credit and collection. At present, outside of its own organization, IDMS is being used by eight car dealers of Honda and other brands.

“From a user, we become an applicant partner of Infoman,” says Johnny Fetalvero, general manager, Honda Cars Caloocan Inc. “Progress is an easy-to-use and flexible software. We saw how Progress worked. It is best fitted to our size of operation and growth. We need an easy-to-use system because every month we need to accommodate new Honda models, parts inventory and policies. A new Honda car normally has 5,000 parts.”
With the help of Infoman, Honda Cars Caloocan designs the IDMS that keeps customers satisfied with the dealer’s service. “For the past six years, we have a customer satisfaction rating of 92 percent,” he bared. Today Honda Cars Caloocan employs 100 technical staff from an original crop of 10 technicians. Its three-story building can accommodate 350 cars from a humble beginning of 15 units.
Consequently, the number of progress users increased from 10 to 50.
