Author claims more than half of Christians are unsaved. Dave Macy claims in his new book Doubt Free Living that the church today is full of members who are in desperate need of salvation!

Former religious skeptic and radio talk host Dave Macy says that more than half of so-called Christians are in danger of going to a very real Hell. “Looking at the studies done by researchers like George Barna and others and my own experiences I would say the Church today is in serious trouble”, says Macy. “The Church needs a reality check and it needs to get back to the fundamental truths found in the Bible.”
Macy’s book Doubt Free Living identifies the problem of CINOs (Christians In Name Only) who have joined the church for every reason but the right one according to the author. “In America the majority of ‘believers’ have made a decision that is not based on realizing the need for salvation, but on everything from finding a purpose to having a god they can access like an ATM machine. The church is lukewarm at best when things like a cooler looking website or yoga classes become more important that the ONE we should be serving,” adds the author.
Macy himself was an avowed skeptic and agnostic before having his own Damascus Road experience. He traveled the long road to the Truth with many detours along the way including a stint with the Mormons and Witnesses. The turning point began with his study of the Bible and Christian Apologetics. “Finally the light went off,” says Macy. “The evidence from history, archaeology, science, and most importantly prophecy was simply overwhelming- but while it opened the door to becoming a Christian, it wasn’t until I was driven to my knees that I was born again.”
Macy says he is on a mission to ‘wake up” the church and get people to accept Christ as their LORD and savior. His book is a collection of short essays and stories that relate in a very personal way the power of knowing and standing on God’s word. “People need to get away from the concept that becoming a Christian is the answer to all of life’s problems. You’ll still have troubles but you will have joy and peace and be free from doubt because you will know the Truth and it will set you free.”
