Cash Gifting? What is Cash Gifting? Ambiguous since searches on Google and Yahoo! do not agree.
As cash gifting has stormed the web, the two dominant search engines for the internet, Google and Yahoo!, form the basis for every work from home or home based business owner’s efforts in cyberspace.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 26, 2008 --
Web users searching for information on cash gifting using Google and Yahoo! can expect different and also inconsistent results when using the term: “cash gifting.” Most internet searches are conducted with an inherent belief that search engines function like reference books. When something like cash gifting is researched using a dictionary, encyclopedia, or even phone book the returned information is static, it stays the same. If there are 300 listings under a subject today, there will be 300 listings tomorrow. Within those listings, sites like http://BeWealthyTomorrow.com will also maintain their order each time the information is accessed. The reality is that neither of those conditions is true when it comes to the web.
The web instead can have both consistency and stability that users have become accustomed to for some terms, and be the exact opposite for others. As society transitions to search engines for reference it is not obvious that the search engines are not the same as books, they are dynamic. Listings may shrink or grow and orders may change over varying periods of time. What is also not obvious to the user is that not all search engines are created equal. A new work at home entrepreneur optimizing for Google learns that the effort shows no impact on Yahoo!. In many cases the two dominant search engines do not necessarily agree when a search for the same term is conducted. In fact, search results for something as simple as "cash gifting " can provide very different results.
When conducting an ad hoc test of this fact, the following findings were concluded:
1. Google results can change dramatically over a very short period of time (minutes).
2. Yahoo! provides a higher amount of returns, but limits the ability to reach deeper results.
The test was conducted by searching for three terms: cash gifting as the simple term, cash gifting in quotation marks ("cash gifting"), and a specific cash gifting site Be Wealthy Tomorrow.
For a simple search on cash gifting Google actually had three different totals: 1) 1,090,000, 2) 1,130,000, and 3) 1,290,000 over a fifteen to thirty minute span. At the same time Yahoo! Results for that same search were almost double at 1,960,000. It should therefore be much harder to be found on Yahoo! for cash gifting than on Google.
The same basic ratio holds true for a search using the quoted term “cash gifting”. In that case Google showed 343,000 versus Yahoo!’s 622,000. Google may be concerned that Yahoo! conducted the search in less than half the time at 0.18 seconds to Google’s 0.37.
Finally, a test for a specific site revealed a very interesting result. Google has BeWealthyTomorrow.com listed under cash gifting consistently between the first 300-400 results, Yahoo! on the other hand does not have that site in it’s first 1000 and ended the viewable listings there. More importantly is that for the actual words Be Wealthy Tomorrow, Google has the site at #2 and it still is not found on Yahoo!’s first pages, that seems to mean the url means more to Google than it does to Yahoo!
