Ten years is a milestone in any relationship and merits celebration, even if it’s a behind-the-scenes relationship, notes publicist Linda Hamburger about the long-term, partnership maintained by South Florida events company, ME Productions in setting the stage each year for the annual Miami HEAT Family Festival.
Florida’s largest special events company, ME Productions, was pleased to be selected for a tenth consecutive year to design and produce the 11th Annual Miami HEAT Family Festival, presented by Carnival Cruise Lines and held at the AmericanAirlines Arena on Saturday, February 24 with over 2,000 in attendance.
HEAT players, coaches, celebrities and 250 families enjoyed an all-day themed, interactive, carnival-like celebration held to raise funds and awareness for local charities. In addition to the fanfare of the event, the festival featured an interactive game area geared toward children, a silent auction and a food court featuring popular restaurants and chefs of South Florida to create a memorable dining experience.
“This event keeps getting bigger and better every year,” said ME Productions Executive Sales and Event Manager Ted Boyd, “This year, the focus was entirely on the games and added attractions for family fun. There were new and returning activities that included pony rides, bungee jumping, an obstacle course and, of course, the All Star Hoops area. We enjoy creating the décor and being a part of an event for so many years. We really value when a client returns year after year. It just says ‘you’re doing something right.’”
From dance clinics and shooting hoops with HEAT players, to player autographs and photo opportunities, the Miami HEAT festival was a memorable and unique day of fun. This year, the party included:

• Over 100 celebrities and sports heroes
• Miami Heat Arcade including Flip a Frog, Tic Tac Toe, Baseball Challenge, Balloon Darts, Milk Bottle Throw, Break a Plate and more!

• Celebrity Dunk Tank
• Game Zone including face painting and games of Twister
• Celebrity Bars
• Inflatable Basketball
The event raised about $1.5 million for charities, with the proceeds benefiting the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund; Jackson Memorial Children’s Hospital, supporting seriously ill children; Safespace (a domestic violence shelter for women and their children); and the Miami Coalition for a Safe & Drug Free Community, and other South Florida charities.
