The still unsolved 2006 death of Robert Nathaniel Kirk is still haunting the minds of Mesa residents.

Mesa, Arizona. April 27, 2008 – At 22 years of age, Robert Nathaniel Kirk was found dead in the backyard swimming pool. Residents are still unsure if it was a simple accident or a still unsolved murder.
Authorities responded to the crime scene on the morning of August 28, 2006 after a frantic 911 call for a non-breathing male. Nate was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroners found alcohol and cocaine in his system with a needle mark for injection, but those who knew Nate state that he was afraid of needles. The official cause of death was drowning. One week prior to his death, Nate was threatened by some acquaintances.
The Mesa Police Department ruled the death an accident based on the Medical Examiners report. However, a second Medical Examiner found several facts that were not stated in the first Examiner’s report. This, as well as previous threats, has left residents worried and wondering what really happened to Nate Kirk.
In a recent private investigation, an automated voicemail tip line system and an email address have been set up for individuals who may have information about what happened to Nate in the early morning hours of August 28, 2006 or the night of August 27, 2006.
