Locally owned and operated franchise to deliver quality in home care to Victoria seniors
For_Immediate_Release:

Canada (Press Release) April 29, 2008 -- Victoria, BC With approximately 18% of Victoria residents currently 65 years or older, the needs of local seniors are extremely important. As the national percentage of seniors is set to double over the next 20 years, Nurse Next Door, Western Canada’s largest in-home senior care provider, has launched a franchise dedicated to the Victoria area to help address the rapidly growing senior care needs.

The newest Nurse Next Door franchise, locally owned and operated by Alyshia Vogt, will address the healthcare needs of Victoria seniors by providing a viable alternative to long-term care facilities. With current nursing homes proving to be both costly and inefficient the vital services Nurse Next Door provides allow today’s local seniors to live comfortably at home.

“This franchise allows us to improve the quality of life for thousands of Victoria seniors and ease the burden on their caregiving families,” says Vogt. “We are trying to educate residents now to help them understand that there is an affordable opportunity to keep their aging loved ones at home while still receiving the care and attention they need.”

Vogt, an experienced registered nurse, made the shift from hospital nursing to building an in-home senior care business because of her experiences in institutional care settings.

“Our hospitals and care facilities are facing very difficult challenges in caring for our seniors and it is our aging loved ones that are suffering,” said Vogt. “As an entrepreneur, I wanted to step up and help address this challenge by keeping seniors where they want to be – in their own homes.”

Nurse Next Door’s Victoria franchise provides a full spectrum of in-home senior care services ranging from 2-hour per week companionship to 24-hour, round-the-clock care from a registered nurse. These services help individuals who have a variety of professional care needs live happy, healthy and at home.
