United States of America (Press Release) May 2, 2008 -- Commercial Investigations Inc, ActiveAccess Launches NewsView: Free Desktop Application to View Brea

CHANTILLY, Va. (Business Wire EON) April 21, 2008 -- "We created NewsView as a response to the over saturation of email and Internet content that the public experiences on a daily basis without a method for filtering or aggregating what matters most to them," said Mike Ferrara, vice president of BIA Information Network. "By creating desktop applications that give consumers' subject channels of choice, BIN is responding to their need to find sought-after information amidst a cluttered Internet. Consumers can use NewsView on a day-to-day basis to stay informed of breaking news and important subjects."

NewsView provides users news and information on sports, entertainment, business, politics, health, science, and technology via video and text feeds. The application also includes an RSS reader that can be customized by the user to include additional news feeds of choice. NewsView also has the ability to send emergency weather alerts, breaking news, and headline news via a crawler and audible notification, depending on user's settings.

News and content is provided to NewsView through BIN's partner Voxant, an innovative provider of licensed content from more than 200 news sources, including the Associated Press, CBS, MTV, Reuters, the NBA, TV Guide, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and the National Hockey League. Other NewsView partners include the National Weather Service for local weather and national weather and Traffic.com for local city traffic.

"Voxant is pleased to provide its content through NewsView's unique desktop application," said Marcien Jenckes, CEO of Voxant. "While our news and information has always been available through Web sites and blogs, this is the first time it has been fed directly to the desktop of a computer. A Web 2.0 technology like ActiveAccess gives users the ability to receive information like breaking news and news feeds in an entirely new and easy way."

ActiveAccess is available through a light-weight download from the ActiveAccess website at http://www.activeaccess.com/newsview.htm. To operate, it requires about as much memory as a single webpage and is the most secure desktop application available, containing no adware, spyware or malware. NewsView can operate at work or home and does not interfere with corporate servers or network environments. Once installed, the application sits as an icon on a PC desktop and requires Internet access. As with all ActiveAccess desktop applications, NewsView can deliver targeted content based on user preferences and zip code.

Currently used by corporations and trade associations, ActiveAccess' desktop applications are expanding to the consumer market as a method to un-clutter the Internet and provide convenient access to subject-specific information chosen by the user and delivered directly to the PC. For more information on ActiveAccess and how it can be customized to deliver digital content for companies, or how it can generate new forms of revenue, visit http://www.activeaccess.com or email info@activeaccess.com to request a personal demonstration.
