Canada (Press Release) May 3, 2008 --
We are excited to unveil our new collections and hope that you will join us during our grand opening month to view the unique, one of a kind, handmade artifacts from three distinct artist communities.
Born from a love of people, art and travel Umtali Arts plans to become Vancouver’s premier destination for unique stone sculptures and ceramic art from around the world. Located in Vancouver's "Gallery Row", just across the Granville Street Bridge from downtown Vancouver, we are waiting to show you our collections from around the world.
At Umtali Arts we strive to be the gallery that makes a difference in our world. We are committed to bringing you stunning artifacts from unique artist communities around the world. We are dedicated to improving the welfare of our artists by showcasing their works in newly created markets.
From the Shona people of Zimbabwe we bring you stone sculptures that have become renowned throughout the world and are a symbol of the legends and traditions of ancient African culture.
From the sleepy village of Mata Ortiz in northern Mexico we bring you some of the most exquisite pottery found anywhere in the world, created by a handful of local potters who use clay pots as their canvases to create these unique pieces.
From the artists of San Jaun de Oriente, Nicaragua we bring you a truly unique form of art that has become renowned throughout the world.
Each of these collections is created by artists using primitive hand tools and the age old techniques of their ancestors. In all of these unique communities, the art produced by these artists is an integral part of the local economy and the income from these artifacts has a positive impact on the welfare of the people of these communities.
Umtali Arts is proud to bring these imported collections to you at affordable prices and we look forward to seeing you in our Gallery soon.
