United States of America (Press Release) May 6, 2008 --
King Coffee is the Swedish reggae band that reunited in Panama in 2006 to record their first album: "King Coffee - El Pal Mar". Now in may 2008, the band has returned home after a second visit to Panama with nine brand new songs!
”Now we'll just do the final mix and mastering of the songs before we press the records", says Chris Larsson, base player in King Coffee. "Last time we pressed them back home in Sweden, but this time we will try to do it in Colombia. In that way we hope to be able to offer a nice price for the final product!"
When King Coffee visited Panama there was a release party held in Panama City for the album Planeta Pendulo. This is a collection album and King Coffee contributes with the songs Cykel and Mandag from their first album. The album Planeta Pendulo was released in Panama in the beginning of 2008 by the independent record company Editoris Grabations that produced King Coffee's first album.
Lucia Rivera reviewed the album Planeta Pendulo in the April edition of Rolling Stone Magazine (Latin Americas) gave it 3 stars! ”A delicious blend showing the width and the depth of the Panamanian rock stage of today, spiced with reggae from Sweden!"
Also the Panamanian rock magazine "Madame Blanche" writes about the album Planeta Pendulo in the April edition and about the bands contributing. Madame Blache writes about King Coffee: "King Coffee plays the finest roots reggae you ever heard. The only difference between King Coffee and a pure Jamaican reggae band is that they sing in swedish, are all blonds and have green eyes!"
On the 5th of July there will be a release party at the club Harrys in Eskilstuna, the hometown of King Coffee, 60 miles west of Stockholm, Sweden.
