New newsletter tries to find the lighter side of menopausal hot flashes.

Nancy Bachevy doesn't want women to suffer from hot flashes and she wants them to laugh a little bit until they find a way to stave them off. Her new newsletter, Red Hot (News)Flash interjects humor into a very serious medical problem.
Over forty million American women currently suffer with hot flashes as they move through menopause. For many women, hot flashes can be a source of extreme discomfort and embarrassment. Bachevy's newsletter discusses the “lighter side” of hot flashes while providing insight on the topic and suggesting potential ways of handling the problem.
“I've always believed that whole thing about laughter being the best medicine”, Bachevy says. That's why she was motivated to share a few jokes and some humorous anecdotes about hot flashes with others. According to Bachevy, “Red Hot (News)Flash isn't a medical journal and it certainly doesn't promise a surefire way to stop hot flashes. It does, however, give us a chance to chuckle a little bit as we look for ways to handle the heat”.

The newsletter is free and Bachevy hopes it finds a receptive audience. “I think it's important for women to realize that there are things they can do to stop hot flashes. While they're looking for something that meets their individual needs, they should know that it isn't all grim and negative. We all benefit from taking refuge in humor sometimes”.
