Kailua, HI - The 5th Annual Direct Selling Women's Alliance Education Celebration was held at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada April 17th through the 20th. The theme for the weekend was "Stand Up" - Standing Together for What's Important. Nearly 500 people representing almost 200 different companies attended.
The conference provided entrepreneurs with opportunities to learn and grow their businesses and to recognize those who made a difference in the direct-selling industry. The Excellence in Leadership training held on Thursday and Friday opened the event with leaders from the US, Canada and Australia participating. Keynote speaker Jack Canfield, affectionately known as America’s #1 Success Coach, spoke about the 64 powerful principles of success utilized by top achievers and showcased in his book, The Success Principles, How to Get from Where You are to Where You want to Be. Other speakers included Marcia Wieder, America’s Dream Coach, and DSWA Co-founders, Nicki Keohohou, Grace Keohohou and Jane Deuber. The variety of break-out speakers provided attendees with information from booking and coaching to balancing life and family.
The Saturday night gala dinner was followed by the annual awards recognizing the following categories:
•The Ambassador of the Year was awarded to Kim Echol for sharing the word about the DSWA. She referred the most members to the DSWA in 2007.
•COA Network was presented with The Alliance Partner of the Year award for their ongoing support of the DSWA and their outstanding service to the industry.
•The DSWA recognized Cari Christopher with Signature HomeStyles as the The Corporate Amabassador of the Year for referring the most new members in 2007.
•The DSWA Share and Care Award was presented to April Allison, CEO of Just For Fun. Just for Fun held their conference in conjunction with the DSWA Education Celebration in order to maximize the resources for their professionals.
•The Spirit of DSWA Award went to Karen Clark, for sharing the message of the DSWA with her direct selling friends and her service to others in the profession, specifically with her internet expertise and growing direct selling businesses online.
•The Visionary Award went to NWM Entertainment Group, "Keeper" Nick Catran-Whitney for his innovative approach to marketing to the youth and urban marketplace as well as his newest online venture, Direct Selling Live.
The Direct Selling Women's Alliance (DSWA) is a global organization dedicated to uniting direct sellers who share a common desire of achieving personal and financial success. The DSWA is the only association that serves the more than 59 million direct selling distributors around the world.
