Making up, sounds easy enough, right? We hear about it all the time. Songs are written about it. And we're always hearing about make-up sex! But I'm hear to tell you, making up can be a lot tougher than it sounds. I mean, what's the point of making up, if you're only going to be back on the outs in a couple of weeks. I've even known couples that purposely sabotage the make-up process. I don't understand this at all! If you don't want to make-up.., have the guts to admit it to each other and move on. But if you are serious about staying together, there are some things you should know about making up, that can help it last more than a few weeks...
First off there is going to be some give and take, by the both of you! Some people refuse to give an inch. I mean, they'd give some stranger on the street more lee-way, than they are willing to give their partner. That always bothers me... Anyway, this is sometimes a Deal Breaker and the relationship can end right here, if you're both not willing to compromise. It's over before it even began. Don't be afraid to give a little and make some changes. It'll probably do you both some good.
During the making up stage it is okay to pull out all the stops! Have fun with it. It is a time where you get a chance to romance each other, all over again. I can't tell how important this is.., relationships should be fun. There should be romance. Don't be afraid to act like a stupid teenager, or that feeling you had when you first met. After all, it was those exact feelings, that started this relationship in the first place. I know, there are a million ways to talk yourself out of going the extra mile. That is a mistake! Stop taking each other for granted. That could be why your relationship is in trouble to begin with, don't be afraid.
If you really get into the making up process, you will love yourself for making that decision. By diving in and letting it all hang out, so to speak, you will rediscover why you wanted to be with this person, in the first place. And maybe discover a few new reasons to keep them around... Good luck.
