The affiliate marketing merchants report 2007, published by e-consultancy, based on a survey of 239 U.K merchants, covers merchants ranging from sectors like financial services to travel and retail best represented.The report throws light on the U.K affiliate marketing industry growing stronger by the passing day.In a nutshell, the report highlights:
-67 percent of the responding organizations are getting more sales than what they were getting two years ago
-Four out of five respondents are spending more on affiliate marketing than they were two years ago.The same proportion is expected to spend further more on the channel in the coming two years
-Half of the responding organizations expect to have more employees managing this channel in 2009 compared to only 4 percent who expect to have less employees involved
The other key findings of the report are:
Affiliate marketing is the second most effective channel for driving volume, with 73% of the respondents stating that it drives a 'very high volume' of customers.
U.K merchants engaging in affiliate marketing are spending an average of 18 % of their online budget on this channel and spending 10% of their overall marketing budget on affiliate marketing.
