CollegeSurfing.com Provides Featured School Program to Interested Students, Educational Institutions, and other Visitors
For_Immediate_Release:

United States of America (Press Release) May 20, 2008 -- You've always had a knack for helping other people and it's been your lifelong goal to find a job where you can put that kind of work ethic to practice. Or maybe you recently realized that a medical career switch is something you're really interested in pursuing. Whatever the reason you choose to pursue a medical career, the Allen School may be able to suit your needs.

Founded in 1961, the Allen School has lots of experience in training students for a medical career. The Allen School has two campuses in New York where students may pursue their medical courses of study, including Jamaica and Brooklyn. In addition, the Allen School has available financial aid to students who qualify. The Allen School is licensed by the New York State Education Department and nationally accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education.

The Allen School offers programs that produce both medical assistants and nursing assistants. These are two good careers to get into these days, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). In fact, they say, medical assistants have one of the best job outlooks, with opportunities expected to increase much faster than the average occupation through the year 2016.

The medical assistant program at the Allen School gives students the experience they need to work in their medical career. Medical assisting students learn a variety of tasks. Some of these include working with computers, composing letters, and basic office skills. Additional medical tasks students learn include performing EKGs, common clinical tests, routine blood drawing, and others. You'll also work in an internship that will give you firsthand experience working as a medical assistant.

Students who work through the nursing assistant program will learn many different things. Hygiene, infection control, feeding techniques, vital signs, and psychological conditions are all part of the curriculum. Internships are also important for nursing assistants. Once the curriculum has been completed, the Allen School makes the State Board exam available for its nursing assistant students. Upon passing this exam, students then become officially certified nursing assistants and have the option to upgrade to a nursing technician.

The BLS estimates that medical assistants held about 417,000 jobs in 2006. These were in all different locations, like clinics, hospitals, and various medical locations. Salaries vary for medical assistants, but the BLS reports that the median wage-and-salary was about $26,290 in May 2006. In 2007, the average salary for a nursing assistant in the federal government was $33,134.

For anyone looking to fulfill a medical career dream, the Allen School is a great place to start. With an education as either a medical assistant or a nursing assistant, students will get the springboard they need to make their way into a successful career of helping others.
