Established in January 2006, RBC Dexia Investor Services is a joint venture equally owned by Royal Bank of Canada and Belgium’s Dexia banking group – the first of its kind in the institutional investor services market.

The company works as a strategic partner with clients, using its global reach and to enhance their operational efficiency, minimise risks and enhance portfolio returns.

London-based Trac has been supplying RBC’s 2000 employees in the UK for the past 10 years.

"When the bank approached us to supervise a major refit and source furniture for its offices in the City, it also made clear it sought workstations representing current thinking and best practice that were also fit to task," says Trac director David Thornton.

Trac recommended the new Oblique desking and storage programme from VERCO as a solution. RBC Dexia project management team approved the choice on the basis of range’s looks (notably its break from curved profiles to a more linear approach), functionality and price competitiveness.

Oblique also met as standard a specific need for full-length all-round modesty panels.

Work to ground and first floors at RBC Dexia Investor Services refurbished offices in Queen Victoria Street London EC4 incorporate supply and installation of Oblique workstations in walnut veneer and oak MFC to executive and administration areas.

Crisp, straight contours, increased angularity and simplicity of shape are featured prominently in the design of Oblique, reflecting a shift away from the more organic profiles of recent years and cleaner, uncomplicated lines have the added benefit of maximising space utilisation.

The range is available in wood veneer (Maple, Walnut or Cherry) with a stainless steel frame, and in MFC finishes (White, Oak, Grey Walnut, Beech and Maple) with a simple silver leg frame.

With height levellers as standard, the frames enable desks to be configured seamlessly, end to end and back to back, keeping components to a minimum whilst improving structural integrity. Table tops are 25mm thick MFC with 3mm edging for durability.

Another critical feature of Oblique is the user option to build second and third level screening and storage onto even the most basic desk.

A robust yet simple solution provides privacy, storage and screening and brings the benefits of a full system range of desking to the market at a realistic price point with no loss of style or function.

Trac is supplying VERCO furniture to other RBC Dexia UK locations and has a new showroom now opened at its Luna Building headquarters in London’s Bermondsey Wall West.
