“The Death Of My Guide Dog Inspired Me To Take Action”
Welland, Canada – May 22, 2008
Wayne Tuttle of Welland, Ontario, Canada, retired his Guide Dog Paser
after working together for over a decade. During Paser’s retirement, Mr.
Tuttle noticed it was becoming increasing more difficult for Paser to
climb stairs and navigate their two storey home. After repeated
visits to the local veterinarian and learning Paser was suffering with
canine arthritis and hip dysplasia, it was time to make an
agonizing decision to euthanize his “faithful friend” and Guide Dog.
Once the initial heartbreak subsided, Mr. Tuttle was compelled to find
out if there were any products on the market, that may have helped Paser
live a better quality of life during his last few months.
After an exhaustive search on the internet, Mr. Tuttle finally located a
device called “The Bottom’s Up Leash”. Uncovering this unique product
immediately motivated Mr. Tuttle to take swift action. “If I had a
difficult time finding this unusual item, what about others faced with a
similar situation?” , said Mr. Tuttle. The fact that Mr. Tuttle has been
legally blind since the mid 70’s has never stopped him from accomplishing
his goals. “ I want to help others find information and unusual
products that will help their pets live a happier and healthier life,”
said Mr. Tuttle. So, with the help of his wife and co-owner, Tina Tuttle
and with the aid of his special computer system, Mr. Tuttle set out on a
daunting task of researching, designing and launching their first online
pet supply store called “Two Tuttle’s Four Paws.”
“Being blind doesn’t mean you can’t achieve the same goals as a sighted
person, (like designing a web-site), you just have to find ways of doing
things differently “ says Mr. Tuttle. “Our store and product
line is quite different from your average pet supply store. “ Mr. Tuttle
goes on to say, “most of our products are very Unique and the
Tuttle’s are also very concerned about our planet, so they now have a
new line of “Earth Friendly” products in their store.
“Two Tuttle’s Four Paws is dedicated to helping other Pet Parents find
unusual and useful pet products as well as offering advice and
information surrounding caring for their pet’s.” Mr Tuttle states.
“ Paser, will always be with us, says the Tuttle’s, but because of our
heartbreak, Paser has inspired both of us to help other Pet Parents,
locate those hard to find items as well as hidden resources. If you
need help with caring for your pets, visit us at
