United States of America (Press Release) May 27, 2008 --
For the first time ever, researchers and clinicians dedicated to improving bone health have free online access to “New Treatments for Osteoporosis” and other presentations from the prestigious International Bone & Mineral Society (IBMS) conference—2008 IBMS Davos Workshops: Bone Biology & Therapeutics. Access the presentations by downloading the webcast from www.BoneKEy-IBMS.org.
The historic Davos Workshops commenced in 1985 and attract international thought leaders and delegates. The Workshops are renowned for the quality of the presentations and discussions in the area of skeletal biology, both in health and disease. The IBMS Davos Workshops provide in-depth information on translational science, and novel and established bone therapeutics. More than 550 professionals from academia, industry and clinical practice attended the 2008 meeting.
Through IBMS BoneKEy (www.BoneKEy-IBMS.org), the free, open access knowledge environment, bone health professionals can download the IBMS Davos Workshops’ webcast featuring audio recordings and presentation slides for more than 75 percent of the lectures and symposia. Also available are 13 audio interviews with young investigators and conversations with colleagues of the Davos Workshops’ founder, the late Professor Herbert Fleisch.
“IBMS BoneKEy continues to serve close to 20,000 individuals as a true Global Bone Network. Providing the IBMS Davos Workshops’ presentations to all online users supports the mission to disseminate information and analysis to the bone community and the broader audience of health professionals,” states Serge Ferrari, MD, IBMS BoneKEy Editor-in-Chief.
Also available on BoneKEy is the Introduction to Clinical Osteoporosis Slide Set, created by IBMS. Developed with the help of leading clinicians and investigators, the slide set provides a comprehensive overview of clinical osteoporosis. And, as with all IBMS BoneKEy features, access is free.
