United States of America (Press Release) May 30, 2008 --
"First, Kevin Cotter Sr. started walking to save his life. Then he started walking to save the life of his son." The Courier Post wrote.
Kevin Cotter will perform at a concert to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Kevin Cotter Jr.and his father, Kevin Sr., will participate in an Alaskan marathon.
Kevin Cotter Sr. started a dailiy walking routine in 2006 after suffering a heart attack to get back into shape. It worked, he went on a vacation only to return and have his son Kevin Cotter Jr. be diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia a bone marrow disease. Kevin Jr. went through treatment and on a visit to the hospital Kevin Sr. read about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (a marathon program to support leukemia and lymphoma reasearch).
Kevin Sr. had stopped his walking to take care of his son, now he had a reason to jump back into it. "Now that he's come back he's done it with a vengeance," Kevin Jr. said. "He's really into it."
"Since the older Kevin joined, he has done a number of half-marathons and will travel to Alaska on June 19 -- with his son along for support -- to walk a full 26.2-mile marathon." The Courier Post stated.
