STEP 1- Pass the requisite medical examination
Eligibility:
The eligibility for being a commercial pilot is :
Minimum 18 years old
10+2 Passed with Physics and Maths.
In case for non-science students Maths and Physics paper can be given through NIOS (National Institute of Open School). For more details log on to www.nos.org
Commercial Pilot Licence
To obtain a CPL you will need to complete these three steps:
1. MEDICAL: Attain a class 1 Medical certificate
2. EXAMINATIONS: pass 6 written subjects including RTR (A) (score 70% or more)
3. FLYING: Complete 200 hours of single engine flying experience
I. Medical
A. Class II Medical Exam
You can be a Pilot only if you clear your medical examination. To avoid disappointment later, its best to schedule your Class II medical examination as soon as possible (remember class I medical exam can only be cleared after class II exam is cleared.)
As soon as you register with NEW FLIGHT SERVICES , we will send you to a DGCA approved Doctor for Class II medical examination. NEW FLIGHT SERVICES will provide you with a list of DGCA approved Doctors in your area. During the class II medical examination your general health, hearing and eyesight will be tested. After you obtain a class II medical certificate, you will need to apply for Class I medical examination to the D.G.C.A.
B. Class I Medical exam
This test is more stringent than the class II and you should ensure that you pass the examination before your starting your flight training. This includes an ECG, general health, hearing and eyesight check ups.
