These stronger homes provide Category 4 hurricane resistance, and withstand 150 mph winds; all at no additional cost to the customer. Features of Built Code Plus homes include:

•Reinforced concrete block walls. Masonry walls are now reinforced with additional steel and concrete providing protection from high winds and brutal weather conditions.

•Reinforced trusses. Trusses are now reinforced with additional strong backs, resulting in an increase in strength and integrity to the roof truss system by 33%.

•Reinforced roof system. The roof system is now engineered with additional tie down protection, including heavier and thicker gauge straps to keep the roof from being compromised in a storm. The heavy duty nailing pattern secures the roof sheathing and keeps it intact.

•Tile roof attachments. The roof tile is now reinforced to withstand 150 mph winds, exceeding the minimum code requirements.

•Stronger interior and exterior bearing walls. Additional strapping is used to withstand uplift forces in a storm.

•Stronger exterior doors and garage doors. These doors are more resistant to wind loads, and prevent water intrusion, keeping the contents of your home clean and safe.

•Impact-resistant windows and doors. Aubuchon now uses a combination of impact-resistant glass and/or shutters providing protection from flying debris.

Optional features include solid filled walls, a fire-resistant safe room, and generator packages.
