By July this year, Yves Castaldi will officially launch in China with the opening of a fashion studio and production house in Shanghai, marking his new fashion venture within the Asia-Pacific region .

As the Chinese economy surged more than 10 percent annually over the past five years, the country boasted 345,000 U.S. dollar millionaires by the end of 2006, a third of whom were women, according to a report by Merrill Lynch and consultancy Capgemini.

Yves Castaldi said that he will increase his reach in Asia-Pacific within the coming year in response to the growing demand for fashion into the progressive economies of this high-growth region.

He said that the Shanghai Fashion Studio was prompted by the continuing success of Yves's other Asian operations and the need to offer a permanent local site capable of efficiently coordinating and managing the growing volume of production into Chinese fashion markets by regional and international clients.
