NPSA Member Donates Portable Storage Unit to Local SWAT Team

(JUNE 10, 2008) – As part of its ongoing community outreach efforts, National Portable Storage Association (NPSA) members strive to meet needs where needs exist. Portable Container Services is the latest member to give back to its community.

"The National Portable Storage Association is always glad to lend a helping hand. We encourage our members to stay active in the communities in which they do business, partnering with government agencies, families in need, businesses that have suffered loss, and others who need a helping hand," said John Finnessy, CMP, Executive Director of the NPSA, a nonprofit membership association dedicated to the advancement of the portable storage industry.

Portable Container Services, a Florham Park, N.J. company that sells, leases and rents ISO shipping containers, is the latest NPSA member to donate a portable storage container to its local community. In May, Portable Container Services donated a container to its local police department's Special Weapons And Tactics, or SWAT, team.

A SWAT team is a small squad of policemen that has been specially trained to handle violent

and dangerous situations. The SWAT team that received the portable storage container from Portable Container Services will use the box as part of its training regimen. It can also be used to safely store supplies.

"When we learned the SWAT team was in need of a containerized storage unit, we were quick to oblige that need," said Walter Gramcko, president of Portable Container Services. "The local police department has served our community well, so it's the least we can do to help them further equip and train the next generation of SWAT team members."
