Demand For Tanzanite Within Australia Growing Rapidly

Australia, Commonwealth of (Press Release) July 1, 2008 -- Tanzanite used to be a very small part of the Australian gemstone market, with very little interest being shown in the stone. This was mainly due to poor education about Tanzanite, and also high prices being charged by dealers with a monopoly within the country. However with an extensive marketing push by The Tanzanite Authority, and its policy of informing both the retail and trade about Tanzanite, sales and interest in and of the stone have risen substantially since March 2008.
The Tanzanite Authority has gained over 40 repeat trade clients from all areas of Australia, with first month sales exceeding $300,000. As such the Tanzanite Authority is now the leading supplier of the stone within the country.
