The variety of fruits reflect the variety of people around the world

In a far country, where sunshine and rain provides fruits to grow for people to harvest, there is a proverb: „Everything that happens once can never happen again. But everything that happens twice, will surely again happen. “
International Fruit Day is celebrated 1st July 2008 for the second time in Berlin. This day shall be a contribution for the implementation of a peaceful and fair world. It shall bring people together to contribute to something cultural and social: share and eat fruits.
International Fruit Day stands for positive living conditions for all humans. This day promotes the awareness of ALL cultures, nations, thinking, faith and ways of life. Fruits come in different varieties like humans.
The European commission proclaimed the year of the intercultural dialogue for 2008. People in Berlin promote the slogan „together in diversity“. In the wall park 1st July 2008 from 5-7 pm they will celebrate a large picknick between Gleimstr. and Eberswalder Str.. The wall park formally known as Border in Berlin today will become a meeting place for each person to bring along a piece fruit or fruits. Together they can make a giant fruit salad.
Celebrate International Fruit Day at the place, where you are and invite family, friends or the colleagues to share and eat fruits together. If you make that twice, then you’ll make it again.
